Piccolo stands just 155mm tall, yet it holds a table with the ease of something far larger. A conical body in brushed PVD stainless steel rises to a ribbed polycarbonate diffuser, cut like crystal, that scatters the light into a soft, faceted glow. Offered in gold, bronze and silver and rated IP64 for the terrace as readily as the dining room, it is proof that presence has little to do with size.

Piccolo is a single compact form in three brushed PVD finishes, gold, bronze and silver, each available with warm white or warm candle light.

The Design Story

The making of Piccolo

Piccolo takes its name from the piccolo latte, small in size and bold in character, and the lamp was built on the same principle. Rather than start from a blank sheet, NEOZ's in-house designers Peter Ellis and Gabriel Tam paired an existing N1 base with a ribbed diffuser first developed for the Cooee 4. The approach cut tooling and material waste while producing something genuinely new, and it went on to win both the Archiproduct Design Award 2024 and the Sustainability Winner title that year. The designers describe Piccolo as the short, sharp, confident one: it draws the eye without ever dominating the table. That confidence is more than surface. The internal structure is moulded from 75% post-consumer recycled plastic, and every major part remains replaceable, so a Piccolo can be serviced and kept in nightly use for years rather than retired. It is the NEOZ design language distilled into its smallest, most resourceful form.

Materials & Craftsmanship

A diffuser cut like crystal

The character of Piccolo lives in its diffuser. Moulded in polycarbonate and finished with fine vertical ribbing, it refracts the LED behind it into a crystalline, faceted glow, warm and soft rather than glaring, and quietly luxurious against glassware and stone. Below it, the conical body is stainless steel, PVD coated for durability and brushed to a fine grain in gold, bronze or silver. The internal structure is moulded from 75% post-consumer recycled plastic, a deliberate reduction in footprint that never reaches the visible finish. It is built for service as much as for looks: smooth surfaces that wipe clean between sittings, a 330g body that moves easily from table to terrace, and an IP64 rating for covered outdoor and poolside dining. Inside sits the N1 Light Engine, a 93+ CRI LED in warm white at 2600K with an optional 1800K warm candle, dimmable across three levels. As with every NEOZ lamp, the battery, light source and diffuser are user replaceable.
