When NEOZ introduced cordless lighting to the hospitality industry in 1995, it changed how venues approached the table experience. The Cordless Lamp Lock represents the next stage of that thinking: a fully integrated anti-theft system designed to secure NEOZ cordless lamps fitted with the N1 Light Engine, without affecting their portability, elegance, or function.
Engineered to work seamlessly within the existing NEOZ ecosystem, the locking plate is discreetly fixed to the table surface during installation. Once installed, the lamp locks into place with a single press and releases instantly using a dedicated key. No tools. No interruption to service. The lamp continues to operate exactly as intended: portable, cordless, and entirely independent of the locking system.
Developed in Response to Real Operational Demands
As cordless lighting has become standard across leading hotels, restaurants, and bars worldwide, operators have encountered a growing operational challenge. Lamps designed to move freely throughout a venue can also be unintentionally misplaced or removed entirely. Across large-scale operations and multiple service periods, asset management and loss prevention have become increasingly important considerations.
“Managing cordless lighting in a live service environment is where the real operational complexity sits. As we spent more time on the ground with operators, it became clear that loss and misplacement were concerns that required a considered solution,” says NEOZ Chief Executive Officer Jon Hemming.
The Cordless Lamp Lock was developed in direct response, not as an accessory or afterthought, but as a natural extension of how cordless lighting functions within hospitality environments.
The locking plate fixes discreetly to the table surface. The lamp seats onto it in a single motion.
Designed to Integrate, Not Interrupt
“The very thing that makes cordless lamps so effective in hospitality, their portability, is also what makes asset management a genuine consideration in high traffic spaces. The Cordless Lamp Lock resolves that without changing how the lamp looks or how staff interact with it,” says Gabriel Tam, Design Manager at NEOZ.
Within hospitality environments, efficiency matters. Staff may be managing dozens, sometimes hundreds, of tables throughout a service, where even the smallest added friction can affect workflow.
“The goal was to make locking and unlocking a single, intuitive action. A sliding mechanism secures the lamp in place, and inserting the key releases it instantly, with no additional steps and no disruption to service,” says James Perry, Senior Industrial Designer at NEOZ.
“Cordless lighting was never simply about removing the cable,” adds Bim Blake, Head of Global Sales at NEOZ. “It was about rethinking how lighting functions within a live hospitality environment. The Cordless Lamp Lock is a natural continuation of that philosophy, resolving a point of friction without introducing complexity.”
NEOZ has always approached cordless lighting as a complete system, where charging, durability, serviceability, and design work together cohesively. The Cordless Lamp Lock follows the same principle. It integrates effortlessly into existing operational workflows rather than creating new ones.
A single press secures the lamp in place, with no interruption to service.
Invisible to the Guest, Essential to the Operator
Historically, cordless lamp security solutions have often introduced visible compromise through tethers, alarms, or fixed hardware, detracting from the ambience they were intended to support. The Cordless Lamp Lock has been designed differently.
Integrated within the lamp’s existing form and proportions, the system remains entirely concealed during use. To the guest, nothing changes. The lamp retains its clean, self-contained presence, with no visible indication that it is secured.
For operators, however, the impact is significant. Outdoor terraces, bar tops, and street-facing seating can now utilise the same cordless lighting solutions as interior spaces with greater confidence and control. The Cordless Lamp Lock expands where cordless lighting can be deployed, enabling venues to maintain consistency across the entire guest experience.
“What appears to be a discreet addition is, in practice, a highly operational product,” says Jon Hemming. “It allows operators to confidently deploy cordless lighting across every part of a venue, knowing the asset is protected without compromising the experience they are creating.”
The lamp releases instantly with a dedicated key, leaving the lamp and table setting entirely undisturbed.
Built for Longevity, Designed to Reduce Waste
Longevity has always been central to the NEOZ design philosophy. Products that remain in service for years within demanding hospitality environments are products that avoid unnecessary replacement and waste.
By reducing loss and misplacement, the Cordless Lamp Lock directly supports the operational lifespan of each lamp, helping venues protect long-term asset value while reducing replacement frequency.
This commitment extends to the product’s materiality. The entire plastic housing is manufactured using UL certified seventy five percent post-consumer recycled polycarbonate, significantly reducing reliance on virgin materials and lowering the environmental impact of production.
The Cordless Lamp Lock is compatible with all NEOZ cordless lamps fitted with the N1 Light Engine from the 2026 model year onward. For venues upgrading to the N1 platform, the locking system can be seamlessly introduced as part of the transition, without requiring changes to existing charging or handling infrastructure.
