Created by Major Food Group in partnership with MGM Resorts International, Carbone Riviera has opened at the Bellagio, transforming one of Las Vegas’ most recognisable dining rooms into a coastal Italian experience shaped by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio (MBDS).
As part of the project, NEOZ collaborated with MBDS to create a bespoke cordless Victoria lamp — a custom piece tailored specifically to accentuate the restaurant’s new interior.

A Riviera Interior, Reimagined for Las Vegas
Carbone Riviera reinterprets Italian coastal dining through a contemporary lens, drawing on warm terracotta tones, clay finishes, gold accents, and fresh sea-blues. The interior balances glamour with a brighter, more open energy — a contrast to the room’s previous identity as Picasso, yet still connected to the Bellagio’s design pedigree.
Set against views of the Fountains of Bellagio, the dining room unfolds through mosaic portals, sculpted forms, mirrored banquettes, and custom Murano glass pieces designed by MBDS.
The custom Victoria lamps sit within this broader composition, adding soft, intimate lighting that supports the restaurant’s shift toward a Riviera-inspired atmosphere.

Developing a Custom Victoria for Carbone Riviera
The project began in December 2024, and despite some tight timing and the rarity of the chosen colours, the NEOZ team sourced the materials. Development quickly moved into a detailed testing phase.
Working closely with MBDS, we explored how the unique coating should be applied, how to overcome manufacturing constraints, and how to ensure perfectly controlled application on a defined surface section.
NEOZ engineered custom jigs, refined masking processes, and introduced tailored edge-refinement stickers to ensure a clean, repeatable result that matched the design intent.

Creating Bespoke Shades to Match a Distinct Vision
Shades development followed a similarly focused path. Carbone Riviera required two unique shade types, each using materials, trims, and pleating methods not previously part of the NEOZ library.
Dedicated processes were established to support the new fabrics, including adjustments to pleat formation and the addition of liners to achieve the right structure.
The final shades draw on the team’s specialist handcraft skills in working with small-format soft shades, ensuring both designs meet MBDS’s aesthetic direction and the project’s quality expectations.
The result is a distinctive collaboration: a bespoke NEOZ design shaped for one of Las Vegas’ most anticipated openings, and a lighting detail crafted to complement a space defined by materiality, colour, and coastal ease.
Carbone Riviera welcomes guests nightly from 5–11 p.m. Reserve your stay or book your table at Bellagio.com.
